The first two years of Cycle 1 are spent in our Early Learning classrooms where children who are not yet school-age work alongside each other in multi-age learning spaces. Montessori philosophy recognises that these children have an inherent urge to learn and to master all that is in the environment around them. The Montessori learning context invites these children to apply their creative energies to master skills that develop their ability to think, understand, and concentrate.

The Montessori approach strongly recommends participation in the full 5 days per week program. However we do have limited spaces for 2 or 3-day weeks, please discuss this with the Enrolment Officer. enrolments@mic.qld.edu.au

Students spend two years in their Early Learning class before moving to one of the standalone Prep classes for the final year in the Cycle 1 Early Years community.

Our Early Learning service has achieved an overall rating of Exceeding NQS (National Quality Standards) by the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). More information about this rating is available on the ACECQA website.
