Amanda Bell is a highly experienced leader in the fields of education and the arts. She is also an accomplished non-executive director and strategic facilitator.
Amanda is immediate past Chair of the boards of Queenwood School and the Montessori International College; she remains on their boards as a member. She is a Director of the Ramsay Centre for Western Civilisation and Art Exhibitions Australia, and a member of the Advisory Board for the Chau Chak Wing Museum at the University of Sydney. Previous appointments include as Trustee and Deputy Chair of the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), a member of the Rhodes Scholarship Committee (NSW), Chair of the UTS International Centre for Youth Futures, and a Director of both the Association of the Heads of Independent Schools Australia (AHISA) and the Alliance of Girls’ Schools Australasia (AGSA).
Amanda has held significant leadership roles as Principal of The Women’s College within the University of Sydney, Principal of Brisbane Girls Grammar School, and interim Principal of Kambala. In all three roles she was highly regarded as an educational leader generally and specifically for her advocacy of girls’ education and staff professional development.
Amanda now runs a successful portfolio career based on her strengths as a Principal/CEO and Non-Executive Director, including an Advisory role in education, leadership development and governance for the firm, Future Leadership.
Amanda is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a previous Fellow of both the Australian College of Educators and Australian Institute of Management. She was recognised as a Member of the Order of Australia for her service to education and the arts.
