On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Chris Peach as the next Principal of Montessori International College.

Chris will commence as the College’s third Principal at the beginning of Term 2. His appointment presents our College with an exceptional opportunity to build upon the important educational and strategic work undertaken by our previous Principal, Natalie Smith.

Chris is a highly experienced and well-regarded leader, with a wealth of experience and expertise in Montessori education. He is currently the Principal of the Brisbane Montessori School (BMS), a position he has held since 2020. Prior to BMS, Chris was Deputy Principal at the Inner Sydney Montessori School in Balmain, Sydney and Deputy Principal and Principal of the Elonera Montessori School in Wollongong. He has also taught in the United Kingdom and Sunshine Coast at Beerwah SHS and Mountain Creek SHS.

Our new Principal is highly qualified to lead our College. Chris has the AMI 12-18 Montessori Diploma, AMI Montessori Administrators Certificate, audited the MWEI 6-12 Montessori Diploma course, audited the AMI 3-6 Montessori Diploma course as well as holding a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Science.

Chris comes with significant strength in the principles and philosophy of Montessori education and looks forward to leading MIC through the next phase of its growth. He is a dedicated teacher and will be undertaking a teaching load at MIC as he believes it keeps him connected with teachers and students. The Board was impressed with Chris’s clear leadership focus and approach to collaboration with staff. He possesses a growth mindset and is conscientious and goal-orientated. We were delighted with his positivity and enthusiasm to develop MIC into the leading Montessori school in Australia. His referees commented on his empathy, diligence and strong work ethic. The Board is thrilled Chris has chosen MIC as his next career step.

Chris has commented to the Board that he is “uber excited to partner with us to develop and deliver strategy for the long-term success of the College, to connect with the MIC community, and to make a positive impact on the lives of families through Montessori education”.

Chris grew up on the Sunshine Coast and is very excited to be returning “home”. We warmly welcome Chris, his wife Dominique, and their four children back to the Sunshine Coast. I know our families and staff will take every opportunity to make Chris and his family feel welcome and an integral part of our community.
