About us
The Parent Ambassador Program is MIC’s parent involvement program and runs similar to traditional education bodies parent associations, otherwise known as P&C, PTA etc. We are dedicated to building community spirit and providing opportunities for families to enjoy activities together. The Parent Ambassadors provide an essential service to the school leadership and school community, which helps nurture the growth and learning of families at MIC.
Our aim is to:
- promote the interests and aims of Montessori education;
- provide parents and friends with activities to build strong community ties;
- represent the viewpoint of families with respect to the Colleges aims and activities;
- foster whole school understanding and communication; and
- assist with resources and activities approved by the Principal and Board.
This role encompasses some of the following:
- welcoming new families;
- engaging with current and new parents;
- engaging with parents and encouraging support for the school with involvement in school events and activities;
- providing useful support for the newly arrived parents to the school;
- organising family-friendly events (picnic dinners, class community play days, family directory);
- providing classroom level support for parents;
- welcoming new families;
- informing parents about the school’s unique philosophy and programs (Montessori +); and
- sharing parent feedback.
